- We are moving quickly through our chapter covering fractions. Some vocabulary terms include: equal parts, 1/2, 1/3, and 1/4. We will be taking a test on these concepts this Friday.
- In addition to fractions, we are also working on basic money concepts such as coin recogniton and amounts of each penny, nickel, dime, and quarter. Please continue to practice counting money with your child at home. We will have a test sometime next week.
- Rocket Math-Please continue having your child memorize their addition facts. Today was the last day that I am going to let them skip more than 1 problem on their timed test. I feel like some of them are skipping too many and just doing the easy ones. I want to make sure they are learning all of their facts.
- We are working on Chapter 5 called Good Citizens. Students will learn about the need for laws, government and leaders, heroes, symbols of our contry, as well as their own role as a good citizen.
- Our next test is this Friday, Feb. 17th. Your child should have brought home their new list Monday. Spelling City is a web site that the students enjoy while they practice their words. Here is the link: http://www.spellingcity.com/list-management.html
Snacks and Supplies-
- Our leftover from 100th day are out! Please send a snack with your child if they wish to have one.
- We are also out of glue sticks. Please send in a few if you are able...thanks!!!
